Miyamoto, with in-house LEED professionals, provides structural engineering services with a view towards sustainability: design of durable and functional buildings using renewable material resources. Our LEED project expertise focuses on Materials & Resources credits and Innovation & Design Process credits. With experience in all structural materials and systems, we offer options and specify the resource reuse content for a variety of available structural materials. Miyamoto has extensive experience with the evaluation and rehabilitation design of existing buildings and provides engineering solutions for maximizing the reuse of the existing building shells.Efficiency: Miyamoto's analytical skills and design experience result in economically-designed structures using structural materials in an efficient manner. With unmatched experience in the design of passive earthquake energy-dissipating devices, our engineers can offer design options with substantial reductions in tonnage of structural materials.

With LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, Miyamoto can assist with, or develop, project LEED monitoring, documentation and certification processes.
Miyamoto also assists the design team, during the early design phases, in other LEED credit areas (Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, and Indoor Environmental Quality), for determining building systems decisions by advising on various structural system solutions.
